Discover the beautiful coastal scenery of the Cape Greco and it's sea caves with an experienced kayaking guide, who has years of experience at showing guests the best of the real Cyprus and is truly a knowledgeable guide for both marine life and coastal scenery. This combination trip is designed for maximum enjoyment and least environmental impact.

Description

This is a memorable private trip combining kayaking and snorkelling which allows you to explore the coastline in a unique way.

Our sit-on-top kayaks are light watercraft that can be used by individuals with no kayaking experience for a fun exploration of some of the most scenic coastlines in Cyprus. Please note there is a maximum weight limit of 100kg per kayak. The water is usually crystal clear with light blue colours.

The trip starts around 9am and will last around 5 hours.

We start at Limnara Beach, unless otherwise arranged and we kayak to the Cape Greco sea caves. WE then travel by car to the Ayia napa sea caves for exploration of the caves area and inside the caves with snorkelling.

Depending on time availability, sea conditions and customers preferences, we may be able also to do further west for some distance, towards Cape Greco and back.

The basic kayaking route is along Cape Greco Sea Caves from Limnara going west and back (around 3km)

Departure points / Pick up locations

This trip departs from Limnara Beach on the outskirts of Ayia Napa. You can choose to either meet the guide at the tour start point or he can pick you up in his private car from your hotel/apartment in the Ayia Napa / Protaras or Larnaca areas.

Please note that if choosing pick up, this is in the guide's own private vehicle which holds private insurance. It is not a public service vehicle or taxi.

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

For last minute bookings we will try to accommodate you.

We ask that you give us a second choice of date as the guide can only take 1 booking per day.

This tour is subject to good weather conditions. In bad weather your tour may be rescheduled.

Know before you go - Important information

Not suitable for wheelchairs or the less able.

Each kayak has a maximum capacity of 100 kg.

This is a private tour for up to 4 people.

Suitable for adults only with moderate physical fitness who are competent swimmers.

Kayakers will get wet on the kayaks.

Kayaking is a casual non-extreme activity. We take appropriate safety measures and participants must wear the personal flotation device provided. Participants should always be alert and cautious when doing outdoor activities, especially in the sea.

We follow weather forecasts and meteorology very closely. If we see that the sea on a particular coast is not calm enough, then we may kayak on a different coastline. If we see that the sea is rough everywhere, then we will cancel the trip and either reschedule for an alternative date or issue a refund is not suitable alternative can be found.

These trips are about exploration while respecting nature. We strive not to disturb the animals we see, we do not feed them and we avoid getting too close in a way that they may feel threatened, or may be harmed in any way.

As we move away from summer and temperatures outside and in the water fall, participants wishing may feel more comfortable wearing a wetsuit (or similar, even a UV protective long sleeved top), especially if we are spending a long time in the water.

This activity is not suitable for children under 18.

This is a private small group tour for 1-4 people. Please contact us to enquire about larger groups.

Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions.

The trip is guided by Phivos, either in the English or the Greek language. Phivos also speaks good German, good Spanish, elementary French and elementary Mandarin.

In case of forecasted choppy sea, instead we kayak around East Cape Greko (if the weather is expected to be bad everywhere, we cancel the trip).

What to bring

Water.

Sun protection, swimsuits, towels.

Please keep in mind that while we do provide things like a dry bag, travellers should be clear that they would probably get wet and they should not bring along things that would be damaged by salt water.

The kayaks are light, only 18 kilograms each and can go relatively fast, depending also on the weight on them. There is some storage place on them. At the same time, people should keep in mind that increasing the weight on the sea kayaking, increases the work they would need to do to move the kayak forward.
