This half day private tour will show you the best of Larnaca. Explore the old town with it's medieval castle, Finikoudes Promenade and Saint Lazarus Church, before heading out to the famous Salt Lake. If we are lucky we may see flamingos and we also visit the majestic Hala Sultan Tekke. Our final destination is out at sea. A glass bottomed boat takes you to the site of the shipwreck of the Zenobia, a cargo ship carrying agricultural vehicles which sank in the 1980's. Explore at your own pace with your own private guide. Pick up available from Larnaca city, Oroklini, Pyla, Livadia, Perivolia, Kiti, and main hotel areas.

Description

Larnaca is full of Historical and cultural sights and this highlights tour is the best way to see many of them in the one trip.

We start in the city on the famous and bustling Finikoudes Promenade with it's towering palm and move on to the medieval castle which overlooks the sea. Djami Kebir Mosque is the oldest mosque in Cyprus and we pause here before moving on to the beautiful St Lazarus church in the old town.

We pass many historic buildings with beautiful architectural features and there's plenty of photo opportunities throughout the city.

Leaving the centre of Larnaca we visit the Kamares aqueduct which dates back to 1747 and is a wonder of Ottoman engineering. It's huge arched stretch across the landscape and it's extremely well preserved.

We move on to the salt lakes which see many species of migratory birds through the year and from September to April there are often Flamingos to be seen.

Here we can also see the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque which is an important religious site for Muslims and sits in gorgeous gardens overlooking the salt lake.

Our last stop will show you Larnaca from a different angle. Sail into the bay on a glass bottomed semi-submarine where you stop above the wreck of the Zenobia cargo ship. Carrying a load of agricultural vehicles, this ship sank in the 80's and is now home to many species of sea life.

This tour lasts around 4 hours and your own private guide will show you the delights of this beautiful area.

This tour is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Children are welcome under their parents supervision. Please bear in mind that it is a long day with lots of travelling so may not suit all children.
