This is a unique sightseeing and activity tour with a professional guide, ideal for small group of up to 4 people. It's a personal exploration, avoiding the crowds and taking time to really appreciate the history and natural beauty of your surroundings.
We start at the stone built village of Lefkara, one of the most popular villages in the lower foothills of the Troodos mountains. Famous for it's lace and silver work, we will explore the village which was loved by Leonardo Di Vinci. We will walk the winding cobbled lanes with their fascinating architecture and visit the church which according to local tradition houses a piece from the Holly Cross.
We then move downwards towards the coast to explore the neolithic settlement at Choirokoitia. This is a UNESCO world heritage site and the oldest known habitation on the island of Cyprus. Our third stop of the day is customisable, depending on your preferences. The most popular choice is birdwatching at one of three wetlands near Larnaca, such a Oroklini marsh or Larnaca salt lake, These wetlands host thousands of birds and more than 80 bird species, especially during the annual migration in spring but also many in autumn. Thousands of flamingos find refuge during the cold months of the year here.
If birdwatching isn't your thing, we can instead extend our time in Lefkara with a walk by the Lefkara manmade lake which is one of the most beautiful manmade wetlands in Cyprus. This is a moderate walk with steep hills around the lake. Alternatively we could visit Panagia Angeloktisti church in Kiti close to Larnaca, or Kamares Aqueduct. If you prefer we could visit a very nice village restaurant and enjoy a delicious lunch. The trip is customisable to suit your preferences and energy levels.
