This private guided excursion will show you the historic side of Cyprus with a fascinating journey through the ancient cities of Nicosia, Kyrenia and Famagusta. The first stop of the day is Nicosia, the only divided capital city in the world. Visit the cathedral of Saint John and wander through the shaded narrow lanes of the old town - Laiki Yeitonia. Cross at the famous Ledra Street crossing of the United Nations buffer zone and spend time discovering the Turkish occupied area of the city.
Leaving Nicosia we travel North, through the dramatic Pendadaktylos mountains to the ageless city of Kyrenia. Relax with a coffee at a cafe and reflect that it's picture postcard harbour has seen over 3000 years of turbulent history. The imposing fortress of Kyrenia castle stands guard at the harbour entrance and houses a small museum where you will find the remains of one of the oldest shipwrecks in the world.
The final stop on the tour is the Venetian walled city of Famagusta which boasts over 300 churches, chapels and historic sites. Visit the cathedral of Saint Nicholas and enjoy a short guided tour.
