This is a heart wrenching and poignant tour which incudes time in both the old city of Famagusta and in the "ghost town" of Varosha.

Famagusta has a history going back thousands of years and it's old town is encased in huge Venetian built walls. There's said to be 365 churches and chapels in Famagusta, most of which are just ruins now but there are many ancient and historical buildings all over the old city. Wander the back streets, shop or soak up the atmosphere in this age defying city.

Varosha is the tourist area that was one of the busiest and most popular holiday resorts in the 1960's and 1970's. Celebrities, royalty and the rich and famous holidays here and there was an abundance of quality hotels, night clubs, discos, shops and all kinds of entertainments and conveniences.

When Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974 the Greek speaking inhabitants of Famagusta had to flee in the wake of the coming army and everything was left exactly as it was. The army sealed off Varosha until 2021 when part of it was reopened to the public.

See how nature has reclaimed this former hotspot and witness the horror of lives torn apart overnight.

Pick up is available from any hotel / apartment / villa in the Ayia Napa / Nissi Beach/ Ayia Thekla/ Protaras, Pernera, Kaparris, Paralimni and Cape Greco areas.

The driver will be your guide and he speaks excellent English and Greek. A Polish speaking driver is also available for advance bookings.
