For anyone interested in History, Paphos is a must visit destination. The whole town is a UNESCO world heritage site and there are ancient remains all over what was once the capital of Cyprus and an important trading point in the Mediterranean.

We first visit Paphos harbour where the modern restaurants and yachts site beside the Byzantine fortress at the end of the dock. This medieval stone castle dominates the harbour and offers panoramic views from it's upper floors.

The next stop, just adjacent to the harbour area is Paphos Archaeological Park. This sprawling wonder offers a rich insight into the Greco-Roman era with well preserved mosaics and many ruins of villas and important cultural buildings.

There's plenty of time to discover all the important sites which have been excavated here. If we have time we may also stop at the famous Aphrodite's Rock where the goddess Aphrodite is said to have been born from the waves.
