Am unforgettable walking tour in the Majestic Troodos mountains, this private guided hiking experience includes two of the best walking trails - The Artemis Trail and the Myllomeris Waterfalls Trail. Offering a contrast of landscapes for the experienced walker, we cover around 11km of beautiful mountain scenery.

This tour is available Monday to Friday (not at weekends), all year round, excluding public holidays.

The start time is around 08.30am

Including travel time to/from the walk location, this activity will take around 10 hours.

Description

This is a private tour for groups of up to 4 people with a professional private guide. It takes in two of the most popular walking trails in the Troodos Mountains area of Cyprus. The combination of the two trails offers a unique experience over a variety of elevations including spectacular views, a variety of tree species and other flora and dramatic landscapes.

The Artemis Trail is around 8km and is a flat, easy walk. This is the highest elevation trail in Cyprus and unique flora can be found. When the weather is clear it offers excellent vistas to many parts of Cyprus.

Myllomeris Waterfalls Trail is around 2.5km and is an fairly easy walk at an elevation of up to 1,000 m, offering a radically different environment. It has typical vegetation of Cyprus valleys such as alder trees, bracken, maple, golden oaks, strawberry trees, storax and plane trees with impressive roots. At eleven meters, Myllomeris Waterfalls is the tallest in Cyprus, and probably the most scenic. There is a small, very inviting natural pool in front of the waterfall. A few visitors take a dip, even outside summer, at times when the water temperature is rather cold.

The combination of the two trails offers a rich experience over a considerable elevation range in Cyprus.

As it is a private tour the itinerary has some flexibility if you wish to spend longer at a stop to walk or discover additional sights.

Departure points / Pick up locations

You can choose to either meet the guide at the tour start point or he can pick you up in his private car from your hotel/apartment in the Larnaca areas. Pick up is also available from Limassol and Nicosia at a location arranged in advance.

Please note that if choosing pick up, this is in the guide's own private vehicle which holds private insurance. It is not a public service vehicle or taxi.

This tour is subject to good weather conditions. In bad weather your tour may be rescheduled.

Know before you go - Important information

Not suitable for wheelchairs or the less able or anyone with heart of back problems.

Not recommended for participants with serious medical conditions, for people with walking difficulty or uneasiness with walking close to steep slopes.

Suitable for ages 13+ with moderate physical fitness who can walk around 10km over varied terrain.

The schedule of the walk is flexible to spend more time/less time at points of interest along the way as required. You can discuss preferences with the guide on the day of the tour.

We will stop for a picnic lunch on the route so please bring a packed lunch.

As a rule, unless other arrangements are agreed beforehand, the trip is guided by Phivos, either in the English or the Greek language. Phivos also speaks good German, good Spanish, elementary French and elementary Mandarin.

Good shoes (with grip) for walking are necessary
